Do Sites Built For Adsense Really Work?

Its 4am and I cannot sleep. So the computer is on, and I am surfing the internet, brainstorming about the next big project that might make me some money. There have {+}been a couple of recent blog posts talking about the author hitting decent cash with adsense sites over the summer. Being a naturally skeptical guy, I never really jumped onto the adsense site bandwagon, for fear these sites are one hit wonders waiting for a Google slap. I have always believed the best way to make long term money online was to add value first, and monetize along the way. It seems backwards to determine keywords and phrases that score big with adsense, then build just anything along side to help yourself maximize high paying clicks. Maybe I am thinking about it all wrong.

Since sleep is escaping me, and there is time to burn, I decided to throw together three sites designed specifically for adsense. Now there were a few things that helped me save time. First, I have access to hundreds of wordpress templates, and had several in mind that would work well for this site. Next, my domains were already purchased and parked in my Godaddy account. I scrolled through my list and picked a few I know have high CPC. Two domains are in the health field, and one is in the finance industry. This will help later with page rank as they are all domains over one year old.

Over at the Google keyword tool I scanned for the hottest related keywords that are paying out well, and wrote ten blog posts that were optimized for each domain. I plugged in my SEO wordpress tool to help the search engines find me faster. Also did a few other things to help build my page rank quickly.

Traffic is king with Adsense Sites. You have to get visits clicking the ads to make money. My next post will outline methods to generating free traffic and ways to continue optimizing the sites for increased page rank.
