Getting traffic by spamming bookmarking sites

I came across this website today that promises to do everything from search engine submission to bookmarking for any url you are looking to promote. All you have to do is sign up, pay the monthly membership, and upload your info into the automation system.

Does this really work? My first impression was this can’t work cause you are basically spamming. What kind of traffic is generated by this type of promoting? Will people really visit my site if I put it on 100 bookmarking site, 20 RSS sites, and various other article sites? Will that traffic last past the first couple days of a submission?

Decided just to go ahead any try it on a site that wont affect my core business. It is something I let go a few months ago, maybe this will give it a little bit of life and put a few $$ in my pocket. What do I have to loose? The site has a free trail!

Sign up was the easy part. The catch is, in order to submit to all these sites(bookmark, RSS, etc), you have to enter your membership info in the backend of this site. Hmm…do I really want to spend the time to sign up for over 100 different sites. Well, had a few hours to kill, so I did it. Now you only have to do this once. And if you already have registered with some of them, you can just add the login info on the settings form.

Next step is actually entering the information I want to end up on all these sites. My url, titles, descriptions, keywords, etc. There is space to enter five titles, five desciptions, and six keywords for each url. So I maxed it out. Total submission time was under 15 minutes, and I was finished.

Time will tell. Will keep you informed as the statistics flow in. Let me know if any of you have any experience, good or bad, with doing this sort of marketing.
