I have a few ideas of what to do right away to make money online. My business model will be promoting affiliate offers in niches with little competition and reasonable traffic. To find these niches I perform research using several free tools. One of these tools, recommended by several of the bloggers I follow, is the Google Adwords Tool (link above). It is really awesome! In a nutshell, this tool allows you to research the amount of traffic certain keywords receive monthly in the google search engine. This is critical. To make money, people have to be searching for it. Then enough people have to visit your site. Then enough people have to click you offer and buy. You dont want to be promoting anything with less than 1,000 searches a month. The other catch is to do what I am trying, which is to rank high in the search engines quickly, I need to sniff out niches that have low competition.
For example, looking at a health related niche, I see for ten related keywords there is on average 3,000 monthly searches. Thats good, 100 per day per keyword. I can also see that, by doing another search, there is less than 30,000 competing webpages in each of the ten keywords. Perfect. Great traffic that I can hopefully rope in free, along with low competition, means I can expect in several weeks to rank very high on the first page of google after implementing some ninja SEO. My goal is to grab half of those 30,000 monthly searches, route them to my site, and sell 1% of them on my affiliate offer. So lets crunch some numbers. 30,000 x 50% = 15,000 monthly visits x 1% of traffic make purchase = 150 sales x $14 affiliate commission = $2100. Not bad for a little site. Now just think if you had 10, 15, 20 or more of these! Better get to work!
